c a r y i n g for you
dance performance . exhibition
c a r i n g for you is a dance performance at Burgring that refers to five pictures of the photo art exhibition on domestic violence “Warum lachst du nicht?” by Robert Fleischhanderl, which took place in public spaces in Vienna from November to December 2024 in the frame of “16 Days Against Violence”. During the exhibition period, most of the pictures at Burgring were vandalized.
The Kollektiv KLAUS encounters these events through dance on the occasion of the International Feminist Action Day and sets a statement for female self-determination and solidarity. The interdisciplinary work combines dance, photography and sound and raises questions about power relations in our society.
By acknowledging and reflecting on individual and collective experiences of women, this work encourages to consciously take, create and change spaces and invites to act in solidarity.
